About Anna Marie
Have you ever felt stuck or like food was just too complicated? You've heard all of the messaging around "eat this, not that" and you just feel lost. Maybe you're in recovery from a life-threatening eating disorder or have struggled with disordered eating habits. Let me be your guide to help you make peace with food again.

I am a Registered Dietitian (RD) and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) with a passion for helping people improve their relationships with food and their bodies. I take a non-diet and weight neutral approach to nutrition, and I believe in making behavior goals, not weight goals. I use an intuitive eating model to help others improve their relationship with food. I work with individuals virtually and in-person.

I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and I have a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Master's Degree in Nutritional Sciences. I completed my dietetic internship through the University of Texas at Austin and am currently a Registered and Licensed Dietitian (LD) in Austin, Texas.

I am an iaedp-approved consultant (CEDS-C, formerly CEDS-S), so I can supervise/consult with professionals seeking the CEDS credential. I also consult with professionals who are seeking to learn more about the prevention and treatment of eating disorders, but may not be seeking a CEDS credential.

I regularly participate in consultation to further my knowledge and understanding in the treatment of eating disorders and associated conditions. I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) through the International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp).

Personally, I am Christian and love working with Christian clients who want to integrate faith into their recovery. (Although I work with clients of any background). My faith is my most important value, and I've seen first hand how diet culture can make its way into the church and I want to help you untangle your relationship with food from your relationship with Jesus. I also consult with professionals (both Christian and non-Christian) to help others support our Christian clients in recovery.

Because I believe faith can play such an important role in eating disorder recovery, I co-wrote a book about this important intersection called Nourished by Faith: Biblical Perspective on Food, Eating Disorders, and Body Image. I have also been on several podcasts discussing these topics.

"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31

When I am not working, I love to travel with my husband and son and I enjoy both the local Austin scenery, as well as exploring the world. I consider food and wine to be a hobby (Psalm 104:15), so you might find me at a restaurant or winery. I am always happy to share my favorite recommendations!
